Teaching
Teaching philosophy
I’m highly dedicated to passing on my own passion for research and learning to my students, fostering an environment that encourages their intrinsic motivation to pursue knowledge. At the very heart of every teaching activity are the students as people. For me, it’s vital to understand that students are individuals with commitments beyond their academic responsibilities and that ensuring students’ well-being and comfort is paramount. Also, I think that teaching is most beneficial when lectures are held in an interactive and practice-oriented way, engaging students actively. I strongly encourage questions from students throughout the lectures and beyond, cultivating an atmosphere of comfort, engagement, and dialogue, building and fostering students’ confidence. This inclusive approach fosters a collaborative environment where both students and I can learn from each other. Also, in my approach to teaching, I firmly believe that teaching and research are strongly intertwined. Also, in my opinion, hands on-projects provide unique learning opportunities, working individually or in a group, supervised and guided through theoretical and methodological inputs.
I’ve gained much teaching experience within the scope of my doctoral studies at USI (teaching assistances and co-teaching), as well as now in my current role as postdoc in the Joint Master Program of the University of Fribourg and the University of Applied Sciences of the Grisons Digital Communication and Creative Media Production ((co-)teaching, coaching & course management).
